INTRODUCED BY REPRESENTATIVES INGRID BURNETT (D) & MARTHA STEVENS (D): HB46 Modifies provisions relating to higher education tuition

This is a similar bill as HB557 in that they both address access to higher education, changing the grounds in which someone is considered a resident in the state of Missouri and HB147 that seeks to remove language in the budget bill that states undocumented students cannot access postsecondary education benefits. MIRA supports all of these bills. Any of these bills passing will help to give students access to more affordable higher education. Currently DACA recipients are paying international rates to attend Missouri colleges. All of these bills address this issue. Furthermore, we seek to have the language in the budget bill HB2003 which states that undocumented students cannot access postsecondary education benefits be stripped.
