Raid Response
A worksite raid occurs when US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrive at a location to handcuff and detain immigrants believed to have illegal status. While one or hundreds of people could be arrested in the raid, families and communities are largely affected.
Worksite raids are on the rise in the United States, with over 5,100 “enforcement arrests” by ICE in 2008. These raids have:
- ignored human rights
- torn apart families
- wrongly detained individuals
Missouri Raid Response Team (MRRT) is dedicated to working with communities in preparation for work-place raids ensuring immigrant populations are respected, granted their legal rights, and safe.
MRRT is always looking for lawyers, advocates, counselors, bi-lingual persons and volunteers.
